Kolton's 12th Birthday

Kolton was pretty excited when he got his new hunting bow for his birthday. His reaction when he opened his bow.

We got to go on an airplane ride for his birhday. It was really pretty. It was the day after it snowed in St. George. We flew from the St. George airport into Arizona, over Hurricane and Sand Hollow Res, then back over St. George and landed. Thank you to Robert that I work with for taking us on this great flight and answering ALL the questions that Kolton and Kamren had.

Zoo Tycoon

Kamren, Zac and Kolton started playing ZOO Tycoon and couldn't quit. They had fun building their zoos. The Johnson's came to our house for Thanksgiving . The Dad's worked in the basement and the Mom's and boys hiked, swam, crafted and cooked.

Chuckawalla

We went on a hike the friday after Thanksgiving. We had alot of fun. It was about 5 miles. We found six geo-caches on the trail.

Kolton has been taking viola lessons for about 6 months. He is learning fast and he really likes to play. He was able to attend a 2 day suzuki workshop in Cedar City. There were kids from all over Southern Utah. He had a great time and learned a lot.
If you look really close you can see him in the back in the middle.

Halloween

We had a really great Halloween. The Johnson's came to visit, play and work on our basement.

Kamren was a scary, bloody doctor.

Kolton was thinking that he was too old for trick or treating but when it came right down to it he threw on a costume and acted like a kid. We went to the car dealerships and then we went to the festival at the college, wow the kids got lots of candy.

My first 10K Will it be my last???

Due to pure pier pressure a ran the Butch Cassasidy 10K in Springdale. It was really fun, I actually liked it.

Tina, Scarlett, Me and Barb
What a group. This was really fun to do, I was really surprised that I liked it as much as I did---I am not really a runner.

Calf Creek Falls

What a pretty place. Waterfalls are one of my most favorite things to see. We went on this hike with our neighbors the Julanders. We had a really fun day, we finished our day by stopping at the infamous candy store in Tropic. Yummy!

Kolton found a really cool tree to climb.

Once we got to the waterfall the air was pretty cool, it was sooooo pretty.

Kamren had to take a break and eat some sunflower seeds.

What a group!!!!
Jason, Kamren, Sue (the dog), Kolton, Mike and Rae Ann (in the front).

Football

I am going to catch up our blog tonight--so get a snack and a drink and enjoy our activities from October 2008
Football was really fun for Kamren. He learned alot about the sport and had fun playing.

Kamren's Birthday

Kamren turned 9 Sept 26th. We were up north for Teri's wedding so he had his birthday at the Johnson's house. He is way into football right now so I made him a football cake.
There were no presents on his birthday because..... prior to his birthday I asked him what he wanted, and he said a Bow that he could hunt with. Then as his birthday got closer I asked again what he wanted and he said the same thing. I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday since we were going to be out of town and he said he wanted to go to Cabella's and buy his bow. We went to Cabella's on his birthday but they did not have the bow he wanted so we had to order it--he was dissapointed but he was excited to be getting the bow he wanted. Jay and Jolene picked up the bow and brought it last week, he was so excited.

Teri and Brad's Wedding

Wow another wedding--Teri and Brad were married Sept 25th in the Ogden temple, their reception was in Brad's parent's yard in Liberty. What a beautiful place to have a reception.
Yet another cake made by Aimee. This is my third wedding cake this year, I thought I had almost retired prior to this year. It has been really fun making cakes again. The boys were trying to be cooperative in getting their pictures taken, the yard was perfect for this. They didn't really like it but they tried to play along with my requests. After I took this picture Kolton said "Mom take one of how we really are...".....and this is the pose they chose. What silly boys.

Congratulations to Brad and Teri. I was reflecting on the past couple years and decided that three weddings in a year (fourth will be in Dec) has been much better than last year when we had been to three funerals for younger people by this time. Kolton said one day Mom my church shoes are fine for church but they are terrible for weddings and funerals because I have to wear them the whole day.

Cedar City Sky Festival Day

Cedar City Skyfestival was really great this year. The balloons flew all three mornings unlike last year when they could not fly at all due to wind. The boys and I got to fly friday morning with Judy for one and a half hours, it was really pretty. We landed about one mile from our house in a hay field. The boys were a little late for school but it was worth it.

Lake Powell

Allen and I went to Lake Powell for the weekend.
We really had a great time. It was Classic Lifgaurd's
20th anniversary so they provided three houseboats
and all the food was catered.

We took our boat and spent some time geo-caching on the
lake, we haven't spent time together without kids for a long
time, it was really fun. Thanks to Allen's mom for spending
the weekend at our house with the boys.

We got to go to Kylee and Jason's wedding. It was so pretty at the Bountiful temple.
They had the
luncheon at Madoxx in Perry, UT. The food was great and the rolls were even better. Their reception was in Jill and Lee's yard it was so pretty they had worked so hard to get it ready for the reception.
The boys were excited to congratulate Kylee when she came out of the temple.

Kolton is so good to make sure he hugs everyone and lets them know he cares about them.

I had the opportunity to make their cake. It ended up really pretty especially once the flowers were on it.

I almost killed my sister Jill's kitchen aid mixer making the fondant, we decided before it fully killed over we would initiate Kylee's brand new mixer. It worked great. Thanks to Kjirsten and her Mom for the great fondant recipe.
